ECSLS’ main goal is to create opportunities for students at ECU Law to learn and practice advocacy skills. We do this by running competitions, also known as “Moots”.
Mooting is a fake trial – and is an excellent way to learn in a low stress and in a zero consequence setting.
Our competitions are generally judged by Academics at ECU Law or alumni with experience in the field. The requirements and rules for each competition change on the nature of the competition.
We run moots in:
Criminal Law Contract Law
Client Interview Mediation Witness Examination
If you have a particular type of competition that you would like to compete in, please approach our Competitions Committee Members (at firstname.lastname@example.org) with any suggestions. We will do our best to make it happen.
